Design

We work with a variety of clients in the product development space. Early stage inventors who have an idea, yet don’t know what the design will look like and also established designers and companies with a defined concept design and vision.

Working closely with our clients, we assist in generating new concept ideas as well as helping to develop existing designs into manufacturable and viable products.

We design with all materials and for all manufacturing processes, including injection moulding, blow moulding, metal forming, extrusion, casting and many more.

Design Development & Engineering

Initial sketches and designs are subsequently turned into 3D CAD models. We then refine these models through feedback from prototyping and visualisation as needed. All components of the product are developed with the relevant manufacturing and material considerations, as well as ensuring adherence to any required specifications.

We can also assist with various mechanical, electrical, thermal, acoustic and structural engineering requirements. Our proven experience in developing hundreds of different types of products, allows us to catch issues before they arise and ensure we have watertight and quality assets to share with our toolmakers and partners.

3D PRODUCT Visualisation

Being able to visualise a design concept in its actual materials and in-situ before it has been manufactured is crucial. Through still-images and animations, we enable our clients to run through various design and material options before deciding to move ahead with the chosen design.

These can also be used to run focus groups for design validation, as well as being able to use the visuals in final marketing materials to help market the product before it even exists.

Prototyping

Digital and physical prototyping is essential to ensure products can perform as intended and to also help maintain the design integrity through to the finished article. Using a variety of rapid prototyping technologies including SLS, SLA, DMLS & FDM, as well as meticulously handmade samples, we help refine designs and establish the required form, fit and function. We are also able to run reliable FEA tests on our digital CAD models to ensure material performance is as specified.

manufacturing

From the earliest phase, we always ensure the manufacturability of designs. Once the designs have been fully developed and engineered, we work hand in hand with our manufacturing partners to sample and produce the final components. Production ready 3D files, engineering drawings and Colour Material Finish specifications are shared with manufacturers in order to kick off the initial DFM discussions and progress towards T1 sampling.
